Description
These hash browns in air fryer are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and require minimal oil. Perfect for a quick and healthy breakfast, they cook in just 15 minutes and pair well with eggs, toast, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large Russet potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
Instructions
- Prepare the Potatoes: Grate the potatoes and rinse them under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch for crispier hash browns.
- Dry Completely: Squeeze out excess moisture using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. The drier the potatoes, the crispier the hash browns!
- Season the Potatoes: In a bowl, mix the grated potatoes with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cornstarch. Drizzle with olive oil and mix well.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it heat for 3-5 minutes.
- Shape & Cook: Form the potato mixture into small patties or spread evenly in the air fryer basket. Cook for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Serve & Enjoy: Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with ketchup, sour cream, or your favorite breakfast sides!
Notes
- For extra crispiness, increase the temperature to 400°F (205°C) for the last 2 minutes.
- Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket—cook in batches if needed.
- For frozen hash browns, no need to thaw—just cook for 12-15 minutes at 375°F, flipping halfway.
